Frances Joanne Zagarella
Frances J. (Malcolm) Zagarella, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at her home
in Malden after a long illness, she was 74. Fran was born on July 6, 1935 in
Everett, MA the daughter of the late Leo & Marion (Hureau) Malcolm Mrs.
Zagarella was educated in the Everett School systems.
Fran
later met and married her true love Robert L. Zararella. The couple married on
January 18, 1955 a few weeks after Bob was discharged from the Army in December
of 1954. Bob and Fran started their lives together living in Everett before
eventually moving to Malden in 1970. The couple spent over 53 years of marriage
together, raising and caring for their family, until Bob’s passing in May 2007.
Fran had
worked for the former Fleetbank in Boston as a bank teller for 10 years. In her
spare time she loved listening to music, reading a good novel, watching her soap
operas. She also was an avid New England Patriots and Red Sox fan. Fran
enjoyed sewing and would make and collect belly dancing costumes
that she would give to her family and friends. She truly enjoyed her grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Fran is
survived by her children, Marion A. Buonopane and her husband James of
Billerica, Ann Marie Carey of Malden, Robert A. Zagarella of Malden, Lena J.
Zagarella of Lynn, David F. Zagarella and his wife Lori of Everett, John K.
Zagarella of Malden, and Richard P. Zagarella of Malden. Cherished grandmother
of 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Loving sister of Edna R.
Creedon of Wilmington, & Phyllis Bertone of Florida.
Visitation will be held in the
Weir – Mac Cuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Friday November 13,
2009 from 5-9 PM.

Funeral
from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden, on
Saturday November14, 2009 at 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in
Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main St, Malden at 9AM. Burial will follow in
Woodlawn Cemetery,
