Ruth E. (Acres) Chingris Ruth E. (Acres) Chingris, 81, died Jan 29th at her home in Malden, MA. Born on Feb. 21, 1929, in Malden, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Matilda (Mattson) Acres. Ruth was raised and educated in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High with the Class of 1947. After graduating, Ruth went to work for Edison Light Company as a key puncher. Ruth married her high school sweetheart, the late John N. Chingris on June 3, 1951 at the Maplewood Methodist Church in Malden, and became a homemaker thereafter. Ruth and John spent 35 years together until John's passing in Dec of 1986. Ruth is survived by her daughters, Pamela Gillis and husband Mark of Malden, Valerie Gertz and husband Edward of Malden, her grandchildren, Melonie, Desiree, Nicholas, and James Moniz, Kerri Gertz, and Selena Alfaro, all of Malden, and her great grandchildren Destiny and Jacoby Hampton of Everett. In addition to her husband and parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara (Acres) Butt. Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Tues, Feb 1st, from 4 – 8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Weds, Feb 2nd, in the funeral home at 10AM, with Pastor Ruth Oduor officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden.
