Alan Paul Van Praet

Alan P. Van Praet, a longtime resident Hull,  passed away suddenly in Florida on March 13th.  Alan was born in Boston in 1953, the son of Albert and Anna T.  Van Praet.  He was raised in Malden and graduated from the Northeast Vocational School with the class of 1971 where he trained in the electrical trade.  He went on to become a Master Electrician.  Alan eventually became the maintenance supervisor for nursing homes, until retiring a couple years ago.   He was a member of the Weymouth United AF & AM Masonic Lodge, and was an active Ham Radio Enthusiast. 

He is survived by his wife, Linda Van Praet, his children, Alan Van Praet of Laconia, NH, Sean Van Praet of Methuen, Theresa DeCosta of FL, and Joseph Van Praet of MA, and his grandchildren.  Madelyn, Marissa, Ava, Nathan, Adam, Cameron, Alex, and Jenna

Funeral Services will be held at the Weir – MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem ST, Malden. on Thursday, March 24th,  at 10 AM.   Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wed, March 23rd,  from 4 – 8 PM.
