Annabelle M. (Greenough) Daniels, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away on Monday, August 14th, at the age of 97. Annabelle was born in Malden in 1926, the daughter of Foster and Beatrice Greenough. She was raised and educated in Malden. In 1948, she married her sweetheart, Robert F. Daniels, and the two settled down in Malden to raise their family. They shared 57 years of marriage until Roberts passing in 2005.
Aside from being a housewife and mother, Annabelle had worked at Automatic Radio in her earlier years. She was proud of her time during WWII when she and her singing friends, The Cooties would perform for US troops in hospitals and other events, very similar to the USO. She enjoyed going dancing with her husband and playing bingo. She had also been active in bowling leagues in years past. In addition, Annabelle as a Lifetime member of the Eagles, and a Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Coffin and her husband Roy of Malden, her brothers, David Greenough of Medford, and Richard Greenough of Billerica, her grandchildren Stephanie, Mandie, Stacy, Danny, Leann and Tara, as well as 14 great grandchildren.
Annabelle was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her daughter Gail Robinson, her son Earl Daniels, her siblings, Ernestine Parziale, Robert Greenough, John Greenough, and Shirley Greenough, and her grandsons, Roy and Jason.
Funeral services will be held for Annabelle on Monday, August 21st, at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden, at 6:30 PM, with visitation held from 4 – 7:00 pm. Interment in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden, will take place at a later date.
