Bernice D. (Lubinger) Sibilio, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Saturday, April 15th, in Haverhill. Bernice was born in 1930, the daughter of Joseph and Cecilia (MacDonald) Lubinger. She was raised and educated in Somerville. In 1955, she married her sweetheart, Rudolph Sibilio, and the two settled down in Malden together to raise their family. They shared 56 years of marriage together until Rudy’s passing in 2011. Over the years Bernice had worked at Hood Rubber, and then Sexton Can, retiring in 1987 after 20 years with the company. She had enjoyed crocheting and was a voracious reader, especially fond of Danielle Steel. She also was a nurturing homemaker and loved to cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene F. MacPhearson of Tewsksbury, her brother Joseph Lubinger of N. Andover, her grandchildren Lindsey and Michael, and her great grandson, Cameron, her nephew Kevin Lubinger and wife Guylaine, Steven Lubinger and wife Debbie, Debi Jesi and husband John, and Lisa Cameron and husband Mark, her great newphews, Korey, Dustin and Steven Lubinger, Jake Jesi, Tyler and Alex Cameron, and her great nieces, Arianna Jesi and Micayla Cameron.
Bernice was preceded in death by her husband Rudy, and her son, Andrew P. Sibilio.
Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Thursday, Apr 20th. Doors will open for visitation at 8:30 AM for a funeral service in the funeral home at 10:00 AM.
Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
