Brenda P. McCarthy

Brenda P. McCarthy, a lifelong resident of Melrose, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 11th.  Brenda was born in Malden in 1978, the daughter of James and Priscilla McCarthy.  She was raised in Melrose and attended the Northeast Vocation School in Wakefield, graduating with the Class of 1997.  Brenda was a loving mother and friend who cared deeply about her family and community. She also enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her longtime companions, Robert Gibson of Melrose,  her children, Sophia Gibson and Wyatt Gibson, both of Melrose, her sister Jennifer Deschaine of Saratoga Springs, NY, and her brother Brian McCarthy of Peabody, and her brother in law Brian Ray of Melrose,  her nephews Dan Ray of Ashland, NH and Matt Ray of Stoneham and her niece Lauren Noble of Londonderry, NH.

Brenda was preceded in death by her sister, Robin Ray.  She is now reunited with her beloved Kenny Bear.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 19th, at 10 AM in the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem ST, Malden.  Interment to follow in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. 

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, September 18th, from 4 – 8 PM.
