Bruce Froio Obituary

Bruce Froio, of Boxford formerly of Malden passed away peacefully February 1st, 2024 at the Chelsea Veteran Soldier’s Home where he was lovingly cared for after a hard-fought battle with Alzheimer’s. The son and youngest child of the late John and Vincenza Jeanne (Torelli) Froio, Bruce was born in Winthrop on December 15th, 1951. Bruce grew up in Malden, graduating from Malden High School in 1970. After High School he married his lifelong sweetheart Carol (Terrio) in 1971. Bruce then went on to proudly serve in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Upon their return from Bruce’s military service, Bruce and Carol remained in Malden to raise their children Jason and Danielle. Bruce served on the Malden Fire Department for 31 years retiring in 2009. Utilizing his skills acquired in the Air Force, Bruce established his own Dental Laboratory business which he operated part time for many years. After retiring from his dental business, he partnered with his son in their landscaping business for over a decade.

Bruce was passionate about meticulously performing any task.  As a firefighter, laboratory technician, or landscaper, Bruce dedicated himself to helping and saving people…always striving to make life better for everyone whose lives he touched. In addition to his love for his family and their wellbeing, his devotion to life also embraced a loyalty to America, veterans, the homeless, elderly, young children, and stray animals. Many a time he brought animals home and cared for them until he could locate their owner and when unsuccessful he adopted the stray. As an avid D.A.V member, Bruce never passed a veteran in need without offering a donation.

During his free time, he especially enjoyed country western dancing with Carol and spending time with their “country” friends. Bruce also enjoyed time at their cabin in Brownfield Maine, but he was mostly known as a quiet homebody.

Bruce is survived by his wife Carol (Terrio) Froio of Boxford, his children Jason (wife Sarah) Froio of Boxford and Danielle (husband Scott) Blumsack of Groton, his grandchildren Joshua, Neva, Jacob, Ana and Max; his siblings:  John H. (wife Judy) Froio of Malden, Rosalie (husband Ralph) Procopio of Malden, Vincent (wife Barbara) Froio of Hobe Sound, FL, Elaine (husband Roy deceased) Martin of Tewksbury, Stephen (wife Veronica) Froio of Boxford and Jeanne (husband Alan) Bumstead of Windham, NH as well as many other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
