Curtis, Carolyn A. (Gordon), passed away on Monday, December 4th. Carolyn was born in Haverhill in 1937, the daughter of Ralph and Lois Gordon. She was raised in Haverhill, and graduated from Haverhill High School with the Class of 1955. After completing her education, she was married to the late Robert Clark. After his passing she met James E. Curtis, whom she shared 39 years of marriage until his passing in 2015. She was an avid reader and enjoyed baking and was very proud of her blue ribbons won at the Barnstable County Fair. She also enjoyed knitting, arts and crafts, gardening, card games, travelling and spending time with her large family. She had several office jobs over the years and also worked for the Mashpee School Department lunch program. In her retirement she was the secretary of many clubs and organizations and Eucharistic Minister and bereavement coordinator at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Shaw and husband Trevor of Swampscott, and granddaughter Megan Aherne, and was step mother to Dorothy Dilworth and husband Steven of North Carolina, Maureen Cooper and husband Paul of Malden, Kevin Curtis of Texas, Mary Winsor and husband Paul of NH, Thomas Curtis of Malden, Jane Blake of Melrose, Stephen Curtis Sr of Melrose, and Marie Buccieri of Brockton, her grandchildren, Jennifer, Catherine, Michael, Kathleen, Daniel, Marc, Sean, Richard, Patricia, Neil, Ryan, Marissa, Briana, Stephen Jr, and Stephanie, and her great grandchildren, Matthew, Chloe, John, Brooke, Frederick, Phillip, Abigail, Jack, Charles, Colton, Lillian, James, Owen, William, Trace, Jameson, and Ronan.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband James, her step son John Curtis, her siblings, Curtis Gordon, Margaret Gordon, Cynthia Gordon, and Priscilla Bilodeau, and her step grandson Edward Buccieri Jr.
Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Tuesday, December 12th, at 8:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, Malden, at 10 AM. Interment services will be held graveside in Riverview Cemetery, 161 Main Street, Groveland, MA at Noon.
