Carolyn Skane Obituary

Carolyn Frances Skane (Ball) of Everett, affectionately known as “Carol”, passed away
peacefully on July 7th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on
January 20, 1944 in Malden, MA to the late Herbert F. Ball and Emma May (Parsons)
Ball. She was raised in the family home in Everett, MA along with her brother, the late
John H. Ball, all of whom predeceased her in death.
Carolyn was the beloved wife to the late George Skane. The couple shared almost forty
years of marriage until his passing in 2003. Carolyn is the beloved mother of Tracie L.
Skane of Everett, George M. Skane of Everett, Thomas E. and Bridget Skane of
Michigan, Vicki A. and Steven Donovan of Reading, and Carolyn Skane and Benny
Faletra of Chelsea. She is also the proud “Nana” of her 11 grandchildren - Amanda,
Thomas, Erik, Stephenie, Ariel, Julianne, Noah, Bradley, Lauren, Kristi and Hunter, as
well as seven great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends who will
miss her dearly.
Carolyn’s greatest joy was spending quality time with her family and friends. She
enjoyed going to restaurants, relaxing by the pool, BBQ’s, puzzle books, watching her
game shows, and going to Weirs Beach. She was a constant presence at sporting
events, cheering on her children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to
support each of them.
