Clayton F Forbes

Clayton F. Forbes of Malden passed away on January 3, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Malden, he was the son of Clayton and Dorothy (Buzzell) Forbes. Clayton was the beloved husband of Marjorie, with whom he shared 64 cherished years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Marjorie, Clayton, Patricia, Nancy, and David.

Clayton attended night school while working full-time and earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. He began his career as a machinist at Schrafft’s and, after earning his degree, dedicated many years of his professional life as an engineer for General Electric. Upon retirement, he found great fulfillment serving as a crossing guard for the Malden Police Department. Clayton was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. His favorite pastime was stamp collecting, and he was an active member of the Malden Stamp Club.

Clayton is survived by his wife, Marjorie Forbes of Malden, and his children: Marjorie Aronis of Hudson, NH; Clayton Forbes and his partner, Sharon Smith, of Gardner, MA; Patricia Jordan and her spouse, Rick Jordan, of Jacksboro, TN; Nancy Welton and her spouse, Doug Welton, of Tewksbury; and David Forbes and his spouse, Emily Forbes, also of Tewksbury. He was the cherished grandfather of Theodore, Joseph, Danielle, Kimberly, Elizabeth, Matthew, Philip, Patrick, Joshua, Michael, Majie, Nancy, Isabel, David, and Harrison. Clayton’s legacy extends to his sixteen great-grandchildren, as well as many other family members and friends who will remember him fondly for his kindness, politeness, and willingness to always help others. He was a true gentleman!

Visitation for Clayton will be held at The Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., Malden on Wednesday January 7th from 4-8 PM.

Funeral services will be held in the Immaculate Conception Church, January 8th, at 10:00 AM, followed by interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
