Dorothy K. (White) Meehan, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away peacefully on February 22, at the age of 100. Dorothy was born in Lowell in 1921, the daughter of Harry and Mabel White. She was raised in Malden, attending the Beebe Jr. High School and then Malden High School, graduating with the Class of 1938. After high school, she married Thomas Sheridan, and the two settled down in Malden to raise their family. Their marriage lasted 25 years until Thomas’s sudden passing. Five years a later, Dorothy found love again and married William Meehan, and they shared 10 years of marriage until William passed away.
Dorothy had worked for the city of Malden as a Bus Monitor for 35 years, transferring the children to school and back every day. She was a past member of the Centre United Methodist Church in Malden, and a past member of the Malden Eagles. She also was an accomplished poet, and has had her work published, as well as being a skilled cartoonist and a dancer in the main dining room of Chickland, Saugus MA.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Thomas Sheridan, her second husband William Meehan, her children, Thomas Sheridan, Robert Sheridan, and Dorothy Sheridan, and her brother, Robert White and sister, Pearl Johnson.
She is survived by her friends Theresa Sellon and Mary Doherty of Melrose and all who loved her at the Cefalo Complex.
A graveside service will be held at a later date In Forest Dale cemetery, Malden.
