Ermelinda "Mimi" Callahan

Ermelinda “Mimi” Callahan, of Malden Massachusetts passed away peacefully on March 15, 2023. Mimi
was born in Everett on January 26 th 1934, the daughter of Michael and Theresa (Hill) Russo. She was
raised in Everett with her five sisters, Joan Tracy, Roberta Reilly, Theresa Dingivan, Constance Murphy,
and Ann Hughes. Mimi married Edward Callahan of the Malden Police Department and settled in
Malden where they raised their two children, Edward Jr., and Deborah until Edward’s sudden passing in
1963. Later in life she met Paul Bentley and they shared 26 years together. Mimi lit up every room she
went into with her boisterous personality. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed
traveling to Florida and Aruba.
Mimi is survived by her longtime partner Paul Bentley, her grandson Joshua Redmond, his wife Kellie
Redmond, and two great grandchildren Liam and Liliana Redmond of Florida, her sister Ann Hughes of
Somerville as well as many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Mimi was predeceased by her husband Edward Callahan, her children Edward J. Callahan and Deborah
A. Callahan, her sisters Joan Tracy, Roberta Reilly, Theresa Dingivan and Constance Murphy.

Visitation will be held at the Weir- MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St., MALDEN, on Monday, March 20, from 3-7pm. Services for Mimi will be held on Tuesday, March 21, at 10 AM at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden followed by Interment at Forest Dale Cemetery.
