Florence W. Joy, 91, of Malden, passed away peacefully at home on May 27, 2022. Florence (“Flo”) was born January 18, 1931 the daughter of George and Florence (Martin) Doucette. She attended Malden High School and graduated in 1948. She married Thomas Joy in 1953, and the two settled down in Malden to raise their four children David, Thomas Jr, Barbara and Kevin. She devoted her life to raising her family, leaving her position as a secretary at The United Shoe Company shortly before her first child was born. Flo was a bright light at every family gathering. She was loved and admired by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She touched the lives of so many with her kindness. Flo was an avid gardener, an exceptional hostess who loved to entertain for family and friends and you probably will never meet a bigger Jeopardy or New England Patriots fan.
Florence is survived by her children David Joy and his wife Debra, Thomas Joy, Jr. and his wife Diane, Barbara Chiuve, and Kevin Joy and his wife Maureen, her Grandchildren Thomas C. Joy, Matthew Chiuve, Nicole Joy, Michael Joy and Timothy Joy, her siblings Mary Davin and Carol McDonnell as well as many other family members and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Thomas J. Joy.
