George "Bill" Norris

George J."Bill" Norris, 69, a retired fork lift mechanic for Brodies Inc, where he worked for 36 years, died Thursday, August 23, 2012 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. George was born in Chelsea in 1942. He grew up in Malden and graduated from Malden Vocational School with the class of 1962. He then enlisted in the US Army, and served as a Sharpshooter in Vietnam. Upon his discharge, he returned to Malden. He married his sweetheart, Gail M. Moreschi in Sacred Hearts Church in Malden in 1966, and the two settled down together to raise their family. They shared over 45 years together. George took employment with Brodies Inc. of Woburn, and worked there as a fork lift operator until his retirement in 2002. He enjoyed gardening, and traveling to Las Vegas and Foxwoods. He was also involved with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts for many years. George enjoyed life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Gail, his children, Julia M. Guarnieri and husband Robert of Tucson, AZ, Michael A. Norris and wife Lorine of Burlington Township, NJ, his sisters, Donna-Marie Flaherty and her husband Anthony of Everett, MA, Eleanor Jones of Malden, his grandchildren, John M. and Matthew A. Norris of NJ, as well as one niece, one nephew, and 9 great-nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his mother Eleanor Brown; his brother John L. Norris; his brother in law John Jones.

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Monday, August 27th, at 9:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, Malden, at 10 AM. Committal will be private.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 26th, from 4-8 PM.
