Gertrude Clara Geldreich

Gertrude C. (Boudreau) Geldreich, a long-time resident of Malden, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in the Lighthouse Nursing Care Center in Revere, she was 88. Born in Everett on January 4, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Clara (Melanson) Boudreau. Gertrude was raised and educated in Everett. In 1945, she married her sweetheart, Louis T. Geldreich in Everett. The newlyweds resided in Everett for a short while before settling into their home in Malden in 1949. Gertrude and Louis spent over 60 years in marriage together, raising and caring for their family until Louis' passing in April of 2007. Gertrude was first employed at the now closed Transitron in Melrose. She worked there for many years until she worked in the operations department of Shawmut Bank in Boston. Gertrude finally stopped working at the age of 67 to enjoy her retirement. A quiet person in nature, Gertrude enjoyed time spent at home with her loving family.

Gertrude is survived by her children, Judith L. Dingwell and her husband, Robert of Revere, Richard P. Geldreich and his wife, Josette of Vero Beach FL, Janet S. Yarosewick and her husband, Walter of Exeter NH, and Louis R. Geldreich of Malden, her 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Louise Elliot of Everett.

In addition to her parents and husband, Gertrude was preceded in death by her siblings, Rita Smith and Edward Boudreau.

Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Parish, 297 Main Street, Malden at 10 AM. Entombment will follow in the Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden.

Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 8, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM.
