Helen M. (Noyce) Kucenski
Helen M. (Noyce) Kucenski, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Monday, April 30, 2012 in the Dexter House in Malden, she was 83. Born in Roxbury on March 11, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harold S. and Helen (Jenner) Noyce. At an early age, Helen and her family moved to Watertown where she remained until moving to the Maplewood section of Malden in 1958. She eventually settled into the upper highland area of Malden in 1964 with her now late husband, John J. Kucenski. Helen began her work as a salesgirl in a department store in Watertown when living in the city. After settling in Malden, she went to work as a cook for a restaurant in 1962. Helen then went to work for Zayers as a salesperson in both the Saugus and Revere stores. In 1971, began her work in the food service industry. She started off in the Malden Hospital coffee shop. Soon after, she became the food supervisor in the cafeteria of the Lechmere department stores in Cambridge and Dedham. In 1982, Helen went back into the food service for health care institutions, working for Somerville hospital before continuing on to supervise the food preparations at both the Buchacon and Bartell nursing homes before finally retiring in 1996.
Helen is survived by her foster daughter, Helen Garafano of Charlestown, her dear companion, Anthony Fucaloro of Everett, her siblings, Angela Salaze of CA, Barbara Allison of Whitman, Janis Rouch of OH, Harold Noyce of Randolph, Jeffery Noyce of Windham, NH, and Phillip Noyce of DE. She is also survived by 6 nieces and 7 nephews.
A graveside service for Helen will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10AM at the Woodlawn Cemetery, 302 Elm Street, Everett, MA.
Visitation will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Thursday, May 3, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM.
