Jaime Realin Jose

Jaime Realin Jose, 66, a retired tennis pro, died suddenly on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, Massachusetts.

He was born May 16, 1944 in the Philippines, the son of Dionicio S. and Elena (Realin) Jose. After completing his education there, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served honorably for 6 years. He was discharged in Boston in 1969,and settled down in the Boston area. After coming to the area, he attended Northeastern University, where he studied accounting and business management. He also began assisting his family in immigrating to the United States, ensuring that they would have a home and place to work as they arrived. Though it took many years, he was able to bring both of his parents, as well as his 9 brothers and sisters to Massachusetts, where they all settled. Jaime was a skilled tennis player and worked professionally as a Tennis Pro. He often worked independently as an instructor giving private tennis lessons, but also worked for many years at the Cedardale Athletic Club in Haverhill. After he retired, he continued to work part time as a poker dealer at Rockingham Park in New Hampshire. Aside from tennis, Jaime also enjoyed playing golf, and was a competitive poker player. Jaime has lived in the Haverhill area for the last 20 years.

He is survived by his daughter Mindy Blossom, of San Francisco, CA, his mother Elena (Realin) Jose of Everett, his grandson Jackson Blossom of CA, his brothers, Pepito Jose of Malden, Dion Jose of Everett, Rodrigo Jose of Chelsea, and Fernando Jose of Chelsea, and his sisters, Yolanda Cruz of Everett, Luzviminda Ladringan, of TX, Violeta Curran of Revere, and Marilyn Almendras of Everett. He was also survived by 21 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Dionicio S. Jose and his brother Gerard Jose

A night of visitation will be held at the Weir - MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Tues, May 3rd, from 5 - 9 PM, with a celebration of Life held at 8 PM. Interment services will be private.
