James Michael Jordan, loving husband and father, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the age of 88. Jim, as he was called by family and friends, was born in Boston in 1934, the son of James and Bridget (neé Linehan) Jordan.
He was raised in South Boston, and was a proud student of The Gate of Heaven School. After joining the army in 1955, he was stationed in Greenland, and he often recalled his adventures in the cold during the Cold War. In 1957, he married Joan Beaton. They raised their family in Squantum, MA.
For many years, he worked as a computer programmer and a systems analyst.
He married Marie Fasulo (neé McIntosh) in 1981. They lived in Malden for twenty years. When Jim retired, he and Marie enjoyed spending time with family, and attending their grandchildren’s school and sporting events.
Throughout his life, Jim loved music and proved to be a terrific dancer. All who encountered Jim found him to be patient, peaceful, open-minded, and kind-hearted; he was a true gentleman. His positive outlook left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.
In his later years, Jim lived at Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield where he quickly won the hearts of the staff and other residents. His bright smile and pleasant manner brought joy to those around him.
In addition to his wife Marie, Jim is preceded in death by his first wife (Joan), his sister Joanne Babb, and his son Robert Jordan.
He is survived by his sisters Marilyn Jordan of California and Kathy Geroux, of Oregon; his children, Patricia Vlassakis of Texas, Mary Jordan of Rhode Island, James J. Jordan of Malden, John Jordan of Malden; his stepchildren Lisa Bache of New Hampshire and Edward Fasulo of Stow; and his grandchildren Janine Vlassakis, Julea Vlassakis, Andrew Medeiros, Kyle Bache, and Kristen Bache.
Funeral services will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Saturday, January 7th, with visitation from 10 AM to 11 AM, followed by a funeral service in the Mausoleum at Holy Cross Cemetery.
