Janet A. Ring
Janet A. (Bateman) Ring, of Chelsea, passed away on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital in Melrose. Janet was born in Chelsea in 1958, the daughter of William C. and Rosalie T. (Krebs) Bateman Jr. She was raised in Malden where she attended Malden High School. She had worked for many years as a Certified Nurses Assistant at the Dexter House Nursing Home in Malden. In 1990, she married her sweetheart, Richard Allen Ring. They lived in Malden for a short time before relocating to Chelsea to raise their family. They shared nearly 20 years together until Richards passing over 3 years ago.
Janet was an avid bowler and had been involved with different leagues over the years. In addition, she enjoyed the occasional game of Bingo. Janet was also a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing food for family and guests. Her greatest joy, though, was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Robert D. and wife Christina Green of Saugus, Jennifer J. and husband Christian De Brun of Saugus, and Jessica D. Ring of Saugus, her sisters, Karen DiBlasi of Saugus, Denise Hurley of Lynnfield, her brother, William C. Bateman Jr, of Saugus, her grandchildren, Destinee Papile, Dylan Green, and Jazelle Goode, her cherished uncle, Joe Krebs, her very dear friend Paul Sweeney of Chelsea, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband Richard Allen Ring, and her parents, William and Rosalie Bateman.
Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Tuesday, May 15th, at 10AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 297 Main Street, Malden, at 11AM. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield, at a later date. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday. May 14th, from 4-8PM.
