Janice Elizabeth (Spencer) Micciche

July 10, 1937 – August 22, 2025

Janice Elizabeth Micciche, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, at the age of 88.

Janice is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Pasquale (Pat) Micciche. She is also survived by her children Kathy Micciche and her husband, Ponciano Schinazi, Patty Micciche and her husband, Daniel House, Karen Micciche and her partner, Katherine Petrecca, and Michael Micciche and his wife, Linda; her deeply loved grandchildren Michael Alejandro, Lucca, Matteo, Rocco, and Talia; and her sisters, Ruth Spencer and Carol Knisell. 

Born in Winthrop, Massachusetts, to Joseph and Martha Spencer, Janice grew up in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School, Class of 1955. On June 12, 1965, she married the love of her life, Pasquale Micciche, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage. Pat and Janice met at a wedding where they shared their first dance. Janice was a fabulous dancer and could sing beautifully. When she was not watching her favorite political shows and classic movies, music was always playing in the house. A lover of books, she especially cherished the works of Jane Austen. A perfect afternoon for Janice would include watching the 1940 film adaptation of Austen's Pride and Prejudice starring Maureen O'Sullivan. Her knowledge of classic films was encyclopedic.

Janice also developed an interest in genealogy, spending countless hours tracing her family’s roots in Nova Scotia and Ireland. With the help of her two sisters, Ruth and Carol, she carefully pieced together generations of their family history, preserving a legacy that her children and grandchildren will cherish.
