John Burnham Jr. Obituary

John J. Burnham Jr, a longtime resident of Peabody, passed away on Monday, January 12th, at the age of 65.  John was born in 1960, the son of John and Gladys Burnham.  He was raised and educated in Malden, and graduated from Malden High School with the Class of 1979.  He then attended technical school where he studied computer science.  He went on to work in the computer field as a computer technician.  He world in the field for many years until health issues forced his early retirement.   In 1991, he married his sweetheart, Loretta B. DiBenedetto.  The two shared nearly 35 years of marriage together. He was a quiet person who enjoyed spending time with family and playing darts. He also enjoyed paranormal investigations with his friends, loved history, playing chess, cooking, collecting dragons, and spending time with his childhood friends whom he considered family.

He is survived by his wife Loretta, his son Sean DiBenedetto of Malden, and his brother Gary Burnham of Canada.

John was preceded in death by his other brother Greg Burhnam.

Funeral services will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem ST, Malden on Wednesday, January 21st, at 12 PM, with visitation held from 10 – 12.  

Donations in Johns memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Committal will be private.
