Kasimira Halina Maltacea

Kasimira Halina Maltacea, 66, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at the Golden Living Center, Dexter House in Malden. She was born September 12, 1944 in Germany, the daughter of Polish immigrants Bronistaw and Genowefa (Zafirska) Medrzycki. Kasimira came to the Boston area in 1951 with her family, where she was raised and educated. After completing her education at the Cardinal Cushing School, she settled down in Charlestown. While living there she met Robert J. Maltacea, and April of 1973, the two were married in Cambridge. The two settled down in Malden to raise their family. They shared nearly 20 years together until Robert's untimely passing in 1992. Kasimira was fond of taking time for shopping, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Emerick of CT, Robert Maltacea Jr. of Malden, and Christine M. Saia of Saugus, MA, her brother John Z. Medrzycki of Medford, and her grandchildren, Brett Emerick, Tyler Emerick, Jessica Maltacea, Jacqueline Maltacea, Robert B. Maltacea, Antonio Maltacea, Violet Saia, Nicholas Saia III, Carlos Esmurria, Eric Esmurria and Evan Esmurria.

Kasimira was preceded in death by her husband Robert Sr., her parents, Bronistaw and Genowefa Medrzycki; her brothers Bruno and Edward Medryzcki; and her sister Elizabeth Medrzycki

Visitation will be at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home on Monday, Aug 15th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Aug 16th, from the Weir Funeral Home at 9AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Hearts Church, 270 Main St, Malden, at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Kasimira's memory may be made to the Dexter House, 120 Main Street, Malden, MA 02148.
