Kelly LeBlanc Obituary

Kelly LeBlanc, 55, of Malden, Massachusetts passed away at Tufts Medical Center after a brief illness.  Born and raised in Malden, Kelly was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Leblanc and the late Helen “Debbie” LeBlanc.

Kelly graduated from Malden High School in 1988 and spent much of her life devoted to the things and people she loved most.  She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Salem State College commuting daily via the bus to for 4 years to earn her degree.  This passion to earn her degree paved the path to her becoming a pre-school teacher.  She found great joy in working with children in daycare settings where her kindness and patience touched many kids and families.

In her younger years she proudly played the baritone in the Diplomats and Ambassador Drum and Bugle Corps where she found lifelong friendships and a true second family.  As an adult, Kelly continued her love of music and camaraderie with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps once again surrounding herself with friends who became like family. In more recent years she discovered a talent for drawing.

Kelly had a gentle spirit and an “old soul,” and she treasured music and the simple joy of sitting and talking with friends. Remarkably bright and endlessly curious, she could bring any conversation to life with thoughtful insight and an unforgettable sense of humor. Her smile was truly infectious. Kelly also adored her cats—affectionately calling herself the “Cat Lady”—and took great comfort in their companionship.

Outside the classroom, Kelly found joy and lifelong community through music and marching arts. She proudly marched with the Diplomats of Malden and the Boston Crusaders, experiences that reflected her dedication, discipline, and love of performance and teamwork.

Kelly is survived by her beloved brother, Robert LeBlanc, Jr, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends and her cherished drum corps family.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Helen LeBlanc.
