Lina Vieira-Farias

Lina Vieira-Farias of Malden passed away on February 27th, 2026. She was the beloved daughter of Gabriel and Augusta Vieira. Lina was born in Madeira, Portugal, where she spent her early years before immigrating to the United States with her family. She was the devoted mother of Tyler Farias and cherished by her siblings, nieces and nephews. Lina will be remembered for her radiant spirit, infectious laughter, and vibrant personality. She had an extraordinary ability to brighten any room effortlessly with her humor and warmth. Truly one of the funniest souls you could ever know, she brought comfort and joy simply by being herself.
In her younger years, Lina enjoyed traveling and experiencing new places, embracing life with curiosity and enthusiasm. Though illness eventually limited her adventures, it never diminished her spirit. Even as her health declined, Lina’s positivity never faded and she remained loving, funny, strong and remarkably resilient, continuing to bring joy to those around her without complaint.
Family was Lina’s greatest treasure. Above all, she was a dedicated and selfless mother to her son, who was the center of her world. She did everything for him, loving him with unwavering dedication and pride. Her younger nieces and nephews also held a special place in her heart, bringing her immense joy and happiness. The laughter she shared and the love she gave so freely will forever live on in the hearts of those she held dear.
Lina is survived by her son, Tyler Farias of Malden; her mother, Augusta Vieira of Malden; her siblings, Teresa Fernandes of Methuen, Dalila Faria of Malden, Silvia Dos Santos of Malden, Marco Vieira of Somerville, and her uncle Juvenal and aunt Maria of Somerville; as well as many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5th, at the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden from 8:30 - 9:30AM followed by a Mass at Immaculate Conception in Malden.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation in honor of Lina.
