Linda Theresa Foster
Linda Theresa Foster, 68, a longtime resident of Chelsea, passed away suddenly at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts on Wed, May 11th. She was born in1942 in Chelsea, Massachusetts the daughter of Charles J. and Dorothy (Mc Hatton) Lewis. At an early age she moved to Malden where she completed her education. She later moved back to Chelsea where she remained. For many years she worked at the Malden Hospital as an aide. She left to begin working at the Converse Shoe Company in Malden. A sudden stroke at the age of 45 left her handicapped and forced her early retirement. She had married Theodore Foster while she was in her 30's, but tragically there marriage was cut short by his untimely passing a year later. She later found friendship and companionship with late John Crane, who passed away just a few years ago.
In her early days, she was involved with the Black Barons Drum and Bugle Corps. She enjoyed shopping and going to the movies. She had become very proficient with computers. Linda also had a great love for all animals.
She is survived by her children, Robert Duncan of Quincy and Theresa Robinson of Pelham, NH. her sister, Dorothy C. Walsh of Peabody, her brother, Charles J. Lewis and wife Mary Lou of Panama City, FL, her grandchildren, Kimberly and Nicole Robinson, her nephew, William Walsh and wife Maegen of Middleton, and her nieces Denise Grace and husband Roger of Peabody, and Ann Marie Walsh of Peabody, as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home on Sunday, May 15th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Funeral services will be held Monday May 16th, 2011 at 10:45 AM from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, 770 Salem St, Malden, at 11:45AM. Burial will be in Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden on Wed, May 18th, at 11AM.
