Marc Celestin, a retired Pastor and Teacher, passed away in Medford on December 14th 2025 at the age of 95. Papa Marc as he was affectionately known, was educated in Hinche, Haiti. He served in the Haitian Army before going to college to answer his calling as a Minister of the Gospel. He taught for many years before moving to the United States.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Fernande (Delacruz) Celestin.
Papa Marc leaves behind a loving family who cherishes his memory. He is survived by his daughters: Rev. Dr Myreille C. Daniel (Rev. Dr Paul Sr) of Everett MA; Suse Auguste (David) of Walpole MA; Monique Celestin of Harvest Alabama, Ketly C. Fontaine (Rev. Dr Emmanuel) of Saugus, MA; his brothers: Gerard Celestin of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Jean Mettelus of Canada; Wilfrid Mettelus of New York.
He was also a proud grandfather to Dr Paul Jr, Marly, Jean-Marc, Marc-Glyphane, Gesphania, Simeon Jr, Andrew, Timothy and Sarah; and a great grandfather to Hadassah, Carissah, Wisdom, True, Hannah, Hoseah, and Leila.
Papa Marc was a lifelong member of Northshore Evangelical Missionary Church of Everett where he headed the Sunday school department and worked closely with his daughter and son-in-law team, Rev. Doctors Paul and Myreille C. Daniel. He was a former member of Boston Missionary Baptist Church. Known for his generous heart, Papa Marc will be dearly missed. His spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
The Homegoing service will be held at Grace & Faith Christian Church, 645 Main St Melrose, MA on Saturday December 20th at 9:00 am with visitation from 8:00 to 9:00 am. Interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
