And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this down: Blessed are those who die in the Lord from now on. Yes, says the Spirit, they are blessed indeed, for they will rest from their hard work; for their good deeds follow them!” Revelation 14:13
Our beloved Marie Elizabeth Borgella was born in Petit- Goave, Haiti, on January 11, 1942, to Mr. Lessort Borgella et Idamante Desir. She passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at 11:59 pm surrounded by some members of her family at the age of 82 at Mont Auburn Hospital in Cambridge after a long battle with diabetic and Kidney failure that led her to chemotherapy sessions three times a week.
From her earliest years she exhibited the qualities that would define her strength, compassion, and boundless zest for life. After completing her primary and secondary schooling “Chez les soeurs the l ’instruction Chretienne” my parents moved her to Port-au-Prince where she studied early childhood education. There she worked briefly as a second-grade teacher before moving to the United States in August 1978 for better opportunities. She was also an employee of Legal seafood for over 25 years.
Marie committed herself to serving the Lord and was an active member of the Philadelphia seventh Day Adventist church in Malden, Massachusetts. Sister Elizabeth was a God-fearing and devoted Christian and had a robust passion to spend time with members of the Church in which she was one of the deaconess leaders. She was a beautiful person inside and out and because of that she will be terribly missed by everyone, but her memory will live on.
She is survived by several nephews and nieces and great Nephews and Nieces notably: Nerlande Pierre, Valerie Pierre, Junelle Pierre, Arnold Pierre, Tanis A. Pierre, Kervens Pierre, Kensley Pierre, and Wadguilanda Pierre.
