Michael Murphy Obituary

Michael J. Murphy, a longtime resident of Malden  and recently Stoneham, passed away on Monday, February 16th, at the age of 68 after a brief battle with cancer.  Mike was born in Malden in 1958, the son of James and Joan (Hanifan) Murphy.  He was raised and educated in Malden, graduating from Malden High School with the Class of 1976.   He went on to become a heavy equipment operator, and joined the I.U.O.E. He was an avid fan of all Boston Sports especially the Patriots. He enjoyed multiple trips to Lauderdale by the Sea with friends and family. Mike had a quick wit, infectious laugh, and was truly the life of the party. His absence will be felt deeply by his friends and family.
