Nancy Marie (Conti) Roche

Nancy M. Roche of Malden passed away in the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, March 12, 2012, she was 60. Born in Boston on May 15, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Scardina) Conti. Nancy was raised in Somerville before moving to Malden in 1966 due to the construction of route 93. She continued her education at Malden High School and was a graduate with the Class of 1970. In 1976, she married her sweetheart, Francis X. Roche, Jr. in the Immaculate Conception Church in Malden. The couple remained in Malden to raise and care for their family. Nancy was employed at Ruderman's Furniture store for over 17 years before moving on to work for the Manganaro Construction Corp. as an accountant until 2010.

Since 1995, Nancy was extremely active in Malden Football Pop Warner Cheerleading; mentoring many young women throughout the years. She was a past President of the ladies auxiliary with the Saugus V.F.W. Post #2346 where her husband also served as past Commander. Nancy also enjoyed time spent traveling and experiencing new places on cruise lines.

Nancy is survived by her husband, of Francis X. Roche Jr. of Malden, her children, Francis X. Roche III of Medford and Leigh Ann Roche of Saugus, her grandchildren, Vincent, Luca, and Gabrielle Roche, as well as her brothers, Joseph D. Conti of VA and Richard T. Scardina of PA.

Funeral from the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josephs Church, 770 Salem Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 1 PM. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Sunday March 18, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM.
