Robert Moore Obituary

Robert John Moore died on November 12, 2024 at the age of 72. Born in Malden MA, the son of the late Richard Moore and the late Betty (Hickey) Moore. He graduated from Malden High School (1970) and served 2 years in the United States Army. He earned an Associate Degree in Aviation from North Shore Community College. In 1986, he moved to Meredith NH with his wife and daughter. He worked for the United States Postal service in Laconia NH; retiring in 2015. Robert valued the simplicity of life. He was kind and friendly to everyone and enjoyed laughter. He didn’t care if you were laughing at him or with him, as long as you laughed. He loved his flannel shirts, baseball caps, and his St. Christopher medal that he wore all the time around his neck given to him by his beloved grandmother. He loved ice fishing with friends and family and being on the big lake (Lake Winnipesaukee). He found pleasure playing fantasy football and won the championship last year in one of the two leagues in which he participated. But mostly, he valued being home. Robert enjoyed sitting in the backyard observing nature and all its beauty. He found joy and pleasure engaging with his grandchildren and watching them play. Simply, he cherished time spent with his entire family. Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Eileen Coleman Moore, daughter Jaclyn Moore and her husband Brian Campbell and grandchildren Isabella and Klay. He is also survived by sisters Margaret Truscello; Jean Coleman and her husband James; and his brother Richard and wife Sandy; his best friends Paul Dillon and James Fee; as well as many nieces and nephews, family and friends. He is predeceased by his brother Daniel Moore. A graveside service will be held at the Holy Cross Cemetery 175 Broadway Malden, MA on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at Anthony’s of Malden 105 Canal St. Malden, MA. Family and friends are invited. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home Malden MA, www.weirfuneralhome.com
