Robert H. Steele of Revere passed away unexpectedly on August 1st, 2025. The son of the late Philip and Shirley (Russell) Steele, Bob was raised in Malden and graduated Malden High School as a member of the 1983 class. Bob was the beloved father of Russell and Robert with his former wife Jeanne McIsaac. He was a proud member of the Malden Elks and had previously been the Exalted Ruler on multiple occasions. He was also a one time state elected Board Member of the State Elks Association; executing a winning campaign through giving out bottle openers that read, “Vote Bob Steele for State Trustee.” This was a shining example of his ingenuity, connecting with his peers, and evidently his need for a million bottle openers that are still found to this day. During his free time, he enjoyed boating, fishing and gardening; he was a sort of jack of all trades handyman and proudly did a lot of work on his home. Bob was also a lover of Boston sports, vintage cars and bikes, as well as trivia, and he could quote any episode of Seinfeld, but most of all Bob loved being with his family and with his dog Benny who was his best friend. Benny remains the goodest of boys and will miss his twice daily walks for the last 13 years.
Robert is survived by his sons Russell & Robby Steele of Peabody, his siblings Amy Hunter of Winthrop, Susan Lynch of Malden, Marjorie Vogt of Dedham, Jeffrey Steele of Arizona, and Nancy Mullen of Topsfield. Bob loved his many nieces and nephews like his own kids and cherished his relationships with them, including: Brendan Hunter, Derek Vogt, Krissy Steele, Jaclyn Rosa, Kaitlyne Steele, Janessa Brown, Erin Vogt, Amy Vogt, Allison DiGaetano, Laura Barcenas, Nikki Steele, Jillian Mullen, Phil Steele, Steven Bucci, as well as many close sister and brother in laws like Rick Vogt and Paula Grasso, and yet still many other family members and friends. Indeed it remains a big family who all deserve to be mentioned with Bob, and it will miss him very much. Robert was predeceased by his parents Philip and Shirley Steele, and his siblings Philip Steele Jr and Ronald Steele.
Visitation will be held at the Weir MacCuish Funeral Home at 144 Salem Street in Malden on Thursday August 14th at 3:00pm Robert will be honored by the his fellow elks at 5:30pm and there will be a service following that at 6:00 pm
