Ronald E. Mayberry, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away on Sunday, January 11th, at the age of 71. Ron was born in 1954, in Baumholder, Germany, while his father was stationed there while in the Army. Like many military families, he moved around a lot growing up. After completing his education, he himself enlisted, and served during Operation Desert Storm, and earned a Bronze Star during his service. Upon his honorable discharge, he and his wife Donna settled down in Malden to raise their family. He worked in different fields over the years, including at West Lynn Creamery and the Malden Evening News. He was also a member of the DAV in Malden, and an active member of the American Legion Post 69 in Malden where he served as an officer for many years.
He is survived by his children, William M. Mayberry of Everett, Joseph R. Mayberrry II of Randloph, Timothy L. Mayberry and fiance Christina Doherty of Everett, and Patricia D. Mayberrry of CT, as well as his grandchildren, William, Iesha, and Joseph III.
Ron was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert J. Mayberry and Richard Mayberry.
Funeral services will be held at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Tuesday, January 20th at 10 AM. Interment to follow in the Veterans Section of Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 19th, from 4 – 8 PM.
