Solange Saint Jean

Solange Saint-Jean passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, surrounded by her loving children. She was comforted by their presence in her final moments.

After a courageous ten-year battle with cancer, Solange faced each day with remarkable faith, strength, and determination. Her resilience inspired everyone who knew her, and she never allowed her illness to define her spirit.

Born in Gonaïves, Haiti, Solange was the beloved daughter of the late Pierre Saint-Jean and Isemelie Saint-Pierre. Following the passing of her father, she was lovingly raised by her grandparents, who cared for her as their very own, along with the support and love of her aunts and uncles.

She spent her early years in Haiti before immigrating to the United States in pursuit of a better future for herself and her family. As a young woman, Solange worked tirelessly to provide not only for her children in the United States but also for loved ones back home in Haiti. Through her determination, hard work, and sacrifices, she was able to purchase a beautiful home for herself and her children—one of her proudest accomplishments. It became more than just a house; it was a place filled with love, faith, laughter, good food, and countless cherished memories. There, she built a life centered on family, faith, love, and kindness.

Solange was a woman who lived a quiet and humble life. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She loved dancing and attending social gatherings. She loved cooking and took great pride in preparing meals for family and friends, always making sure no one left her home hungry. She loved talking and hanging out with her many sisters including Claudette and Florida. Talking to her favorite aunts and uncles. Anyone who knew our mother also knew that she loved to shop with her closest friend Didine at the Northshore Peabody Mall and loved looking her best. No matter what she was going through, she took pride in how she carried herself. She enjoyed dressing up, finding something beautiful to wear, and always making sure she looked her best. It wasn't about impressing anyone—it was simply part of who she was. She carried herself with grace, confidence, and dignity.

A devoted woman of faith, Solange's commitment to God and her church never wavered. Even during the most difficult years of her battle with cancer, she made every effort to attend church services and participate in her prayer groups. Her first cousins, Rosette and Mirlande, were a constant source of encouragement throughout her journey. They made sure she was included on numerous prayer lines and prayed with her at all hours of the day and night. Their unwavering faith, love, and support brought her great comfort during some of her most difficult moments.

Members of her church community also faithfully visited her at home, praying with and over her, offering words of encouragement, and surrounding her with love. Their presence and prayers strengthened her spirit and reminded her that she was never alone in her battle. She remained dedicated to supporting her church community in every way she could. Even when resources were limited, she always found a way to contribute, believing deeply in the importance of giving, fellowship, and serving others.

She is survived by her devoted children, Niva and Fredo; the father of her children, Phito ; her cherished grandchildren, Olivia and Xavien ; sisters: Claudette, Florida, Judith, Lody, Mimose, Lisa, Vanessa, Naika, Medgine, Magarette, Ruth and brothers: Jackson, Wislaire, Winshel, Pierre Gracia, Patrick, Junior, Peter Lee, Extra, Sam. Serno, Kenson, Gary, Miguel. Over 10 aunts and uncles; and countless cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.

Though she is no longer with us in body, her love, faith, and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her memory will remain a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration for generations to come.

There are no words to fully express how much she will be missed, but she will never be forgotten.

Mom, we love you more than words can say, and we will carry you in our hearts forever.
