Teresita D. Tiongson
Teresita D. Tiongson, aged 90, a longtime resident of Malden, passed away at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford on Monday, September 24th, 2012. She was born August 27th, 1922 in the Philippines, the daughter of Placido and Emelia Doroteo. In 1978, she moved to the Boston area with her husband Victorino, choosing to settle in Malden. Teresita took employment with Apem Electronics of Wakefield where she worked for around 15 years when she retired. She was a faithful member of the Infant Jesus "Santo Nino" prayer group,where she and fellow Filipinos shared prayers together, Teresita was a devout Catholic who often prayed for her family. Additionally, she would attend Mass at Saint Peter's Church as well as Sacred Hearts in Malden.
Teresita loved animals, especially her cats, and she enjoyed culinary arts, partaking in cooking and baking for and with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Virgilio Tiongson of Medford, MA, Jose Tiongson of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Victorino Tiongson, Jr. of Malden, MA, as well as 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Teresita was preceded in death by her husband Victorino, her father Placido Doroteo, her mother Emelia Cabrerra, her two daughters, Victoria Tiongson-Villa and Corazon Tiongson-Ojastro, as well as her two brothers.
