Terry M. (Nunziato) Rumsey, a longtime resident of Medford, passed away on Wednesday, June 3rd, at the age of 77. Terry was born in Somerville in 1948, the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Nunziato. She was raised and educated in Somerville. In 1974, she married her sweetheart, John W. Rumsey, and the two settled down in Somerville. In 1978, they relocated to Medford where they raised their family and became part of the community. They shared 52 years of marriage together. Terry was a great cook and an incredible baker, and loved involving the grandchildren with making the yearly Christmas cookies during the holiday season. She also enjoyed her monthly women’s weekend and loved watching TV shows that made her laugh. She was also a lifelong NY Yankees fan and Elvis fan.
She is survived by her husband John W. Rumsey Sr. her children, John W. Rumsey Jr. of Medford and his wife Ashley Rumsey,son Ken Rumsey of Medford, and daughter Debra Lopes of Stoneham and her husband Antonio Lopes . Her brother Anthony Nunziato of Tewksbury and his late wife Jean Nunziato, her sister Patricia Hier of Randolph and her husband William Hier, and her loving grandchildren, Tianna, Haley Jo, Victor, and Tyler . She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Tuesday, June 9th, at 8:45 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, Malden, at 10 AM. Interment to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 8th, from 4 – 8 PM.
