Thomas P Kenney

After a long and courageous battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, Thomas P. Kenney, 77, passed away August 7th, 2023.  Born and raised in Malden, Tom was the beloved son of the late Thomas and Maryann (Price) Kenney.  Tom attended Everett Trade School and after that he went on to serve in the Army National Guard.  In November 1968 he married his high school sweetheart Janet (Santomango) in St. Joseph’s Parish in Malden.  The two shared nearly 55 years of marriage raising their two children Thomas and Linda.  Tom worked for Payne Elevator and retired from Stanley Elevator (38 years).  During his free time, Tom enjoyed fly fishing, restoring cars, and spending time with his family and friends.  He especially enjoyed teaching the little ones to fish.  Tom was also proud to be a part of the IUEC Local 4 Union.

Tom is survived by his wife JANET KENNEY of Andover, his children Thomas Kenney and his wife Cheryl of Haverhill and Linda Kenney and partner David Dunford of Haverhill, his siblings Patricia Hickey of Wakefield, Margaret Toner of Everett, and Michelle Worth of Malden, his grandchildren Julianne Kenney , Jonathan Kenney and Joseph Daigneault, his great-granddaughter Lillian Jorge and his sister-in-law Barbara Kenney, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his grandparents Ernest and Catherine Price, his parents Thomas and MaryAnn Kenney, his brother John E. Kenney and his brothers-in-law David Toner and George Hickey.

Funeral services will be held from the Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden on Monday, August 14th at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Josesphs Church, Malden, at 10 AM.   Interment to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held at Weir-MacCuish Funeral Home Sunday, August 13th from 4:00-8:00 pm.
