James A. Warman
James A. Warman, 94, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Old Soldiers Home, Quigley Memorial Hospital, in Chelsea, MA. He was born on July 7, 1918 in Nova Scotia, the son of John and Anne (Carter) Warman. At the age of 11, he came to the United States where he completed his education. In 1942, he married his sweetheart, Helen R. Schwartz, just before joining the US Army during WWII. Upon his return from Europe, he and Helen first settled down in Malden. They later moved to Melrose, where they have been living for over 40 years. The two shared nearly 70 years together. James was a simple man who appreciated the little things, and valued his family above all else.
He is survived by his wife Helen, his daughters, Karen Barry of Saugus, MA, and Linda Cummings of Melrose, MA as well as 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anne Warman; his son, James Warman; his brother, John Warman, and his sisters, Elizabeth McCullugh, Kathrine Garrett, Daisy Little, Helen Andrews, Ann Phillips, and Lillian Lehane.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 1, 2012 in the Weir - MacCuish Funeral Home, 144 Salem St, Malden at 10 AM. Burial will be in the Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.
Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 from 4 to 8 PM.
