William D. Orben, a longtime resident of Chelsea, graduated to glory at his home in Waltham on Friday, August 11th, at the age of 53. William was born in Melrose on April 11th, 1970, to the late Alfred W. and Grace E. Orben. He was the loving of brother of Stephen Orben of FL, Linda Orben of KS, Scott Orben of Wakefield, Francis Orben (Kim) of N. Andover, and Robert Orben of Chelsea. William was also adored by his aunt Carole Savinsky of Malden, who was his Guardian for the last 20+ years. He is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
William enjoyed watching professional wrestling, and practicing the moves on his brothers (HaHa). He was a member of the Salvation Army in Chelsea for many years and always told people he was in the army. (The Lord's Army) He loved putting things together, and had a thorough knowledge of the public bus lines to get anywhere.
Funeral services for William will be held at the Nazarene Church of Melrose, 2 Short St, Melrose, on Wed, Aug 16, at 11 AM. Visitation will be held at the Church from 10 AM to 11AM. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, North Reading. There is a GoFundMe page set up in his name to help the family with expenses at: https://gofund.me/f37f9d2d
